Dr. Adrian Lineberger was born at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where both his father and grandfather attended residency programs. In 1987 his family moved to the small community of East Grand Rapids, Michigan where he attended East Grand Rapids High, the school that inspired the movie American Pie and produced many other notable graduates including Chris Van Allsburg, the author of Jumanji and Polar Express.
After graduation, Adrian returned to the coast of his home state to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he met Sara, a nursing student from a small town on Lake Norman near Charlotte, NC. They were married soon after graduation, and traveled to Ann Arbor a year later where Adrian attended the University of Michigan Dental School. He was an outstanding student and was recognized early on for his advanced technical skills during his clinical activities. Dentistry came naturally to him, and he flourished in the academic environment provided by The University of Michigan.
Although they enjoyed their four years in the company of fans of the "Maize and Blue," Adrian's heart always yearned for his home state, so he jumped at the opportunity to practice with Dr. Catanese and Dr. Herron in Charlotte, NC.
Adrian and his wife, Sara, are passionate Tar Heel and Wolverine supporters, and die hard Carolina Panthers fans; Adrian was even invited to the Panthers training camp to make mouth guards for the players. Queens Road Dentistry is also a proud sponsor of a tee-ball team of the Dilworth Little League.
Adrian and Sara are expecting a little girl in August of this year. They are excited about their first child and look forward to raising their family in Charlotte. They love sports of all sorts, have a home full of dogs and cats and are passionate about the community. Dr. Lineberger is actively involved in bringing the dental charity TeamSmile to Charlotte. This organization helps provide underprivileged children with free dental care. In Charlotte, they are teaming up with Carolina Panthers to provide dental care and to match up the children with their sports heroes.
Dr. Matt Lineberger (Dr. Adrian Lineberger's brother) was born at Yale University Hospital, but soon found himself in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, his father’s hometown and the place where fate had brought his grandparents together many years ago. Although Dr. Lineberger’s family later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, he never lost his love for the rich southern grace and provincial diversity of his childhood home, and he never gave up his dream of returning to North Carolina.
Dr. Lineberger attended Wake Forest University and played for the Demon Deacon’s basketball team. Although he loved the game, Dr. Lineberger never lost sight of his academic goals. He played for Wake Forest his freshman year, and was recognized as an ACC Honor Athlete. A year later he transferred to The University of North Carolina, and after graduation was accepted to The University of Michigan Dental School. During his time there, Matt met fellow dental student and his beautiful wife, Megan.
Dr. Lineberger worked under the mentorship of Dr. James McNamara, one of the top academic orthodontists in the world. After graduating The University of Michigan Dental School, Dr. Lineberger was accepted into the Orthodontics Program, graduating three years later in 2011. Prior to coming to Huntersville to build his own practice, Dr. Lineberger spent two years in Ann Arbor and Taylor, Michigan as an associate at Brust Orthodontics. There he learned how to treat patients of all different ages and personalities, he became extremely proficient with Invisalign, and learned the importance of having fun while working. Dr. Matt also was involved with organized dentistry, and was elected treasurer of the Detroit Southwestern District Dental Society.
Dr. Lineberger recently received the honor of becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics by passing their clinical and written exams.
He and Megan now have a young son, Mason, and a daughter on the way in August. Two boisterous English bulldogs, Lola and Steak, complete the Lineberger family.
Dr. Adrian S. Lineberger, III MD (Adrian's father) earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1978 from East Carolina University, where he received the Mary Helms Biology Award and was President of Alpha Epsilon Delta (honorary premedical fraternity). He graduated from Wake Forest University Medical School in 1981, where he was a member of the AOA Honor Society and recipient of the Proctor Pediatric Award.
Dr. Lineberger completed medical internships at Yale-New Haven University Hospital and at University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital, where he was also Chief Resident in Anesthesiology. At Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan he has served as Attending Anesthesiologist, and as a member of the Medical Executive Board, and as Medical Director of Integrated Pain Services. He has also received a degree in Medical Project Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Along with being a founding member of the musical group Isle of Faces, whose CD was released in 1995 (still available on iTunes!), which was produced by Mark Hallman, Dr. Lineberger is a university lecturer and an instrument-rated pilot.
